To commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed on 23rd March 1940, GCWUF celebrated the Day with the same enthusiasm and fervor as we have been commemorating it since the time The Lahore Resolution was passed in 1940. The celebration at GCWUF started with the Flag hoisting ceremony by Vice Chancellor GCWUF and RPO Mr. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar. RPO Mr. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar addressing the students and faculty of GCWUF appreciated the enthusiasm of students and explained the Two Nation theory that led to the Pakistan Resolution and then the creation of Pakistan. Pakistan is created in the name of Islam and God is going to protect it but we have to work hard for its progress and defense. While talking about our Muslim ideology he maintained that we should not compromise on our identity and culture thereby combating 5th generation warfare unleashed by the West. Prof. Dr. Sofia Anwar in her speech stressed that hard work and untiring struggle is needed for achieving great goals like the creation of Pakistan which is the result of strenuous efforts of Quaid e Azam and his team. She praised the courage of those mother’s and sisters who send their sons and brothers for Jihad. She lamented the incidents of New Zealand and murder of a professor in Bahawalpur. She stressed the need for tolerance and love for humanity. Islam teaches patience, love, and tolerance for minorities as well.
