Independence day celebrations

Directorate of Students Affairs in GCWUF arranged an event to Celebrate the Independence Day . A number of dignitaries attended the event. The program started with the Flag hoisting ceremony along with the presentation by the Police Band . Dr. Rubina Farooq Vice Chancellor GCWUF presented a welcome speech in which she focused on the historical struggle of Pakistan as well as the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris. She congratulated the audience on Independence Day and informed that GCWUF has been imparting Modern and Technical Education to Fifteen Thousand students thereby making them able to contribute in the mainstream of society. To develop research culture is the priority of GCWUF.RPO Ghulaam Mehmood Dogar in his speech stressed the need to be spiritually strong in order to achieve high goals at the individual and national level. He also advised the parents to focus on the character building of their children instead of materialistic pursuits.MPA Firdous Rai in her speech also condemned the atrocities propagated in Kashmir by the Indian Government. She reiterated that Government of Pakistan will go on to support the Kashmiris in their Freedom Struggle morally and on International Forum.Commissioner Faisalabad Mehmood Javaid Bhatti also addressed the gathering and highlighted the Kashmir cause and pledged support for the Freedom Struggle. Director Comsats Prof.Dr.Saleem Farooq also gave a comprehensive view of Pakistan Movement and the sincere efforts of Quaid e Azam in bringing about the creation of Pakistan .At the end of the event souvenirs were distributed and special cake was cut to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan.
