Celebrating World Water Day, Department of Chemistry successfully organized a one day webinar on “Valuing Water” on 22nd march, 2021. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq was the Patron in Chief of the event whereas Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Chairperson Department of Chemistry, was the convener of this webinar. All arrangements of the webinar were made by Dr Abida Kausar, Assistant Professor, GCWUF and Dr Farhat Jubeen, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, GCWUF. Faculty members, Masters, MPhil and PhD students from Department of Chemistry, English, Economics, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Food Science and various other departments participated in the webinar. TDF Project team, i.e. (PI-TDF03-013) Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq, (Co-PI) Dr Abida Kausar, (Project Manager 1) Sana Ijaz, (Project Manager 2) Hira Qaisar, and (Research Assistant) Ayesha Siddique introduced their product SINOW under TDF-03-013 entitled “Development of Inexpensive, User Friendly Water Alert Test Kit To Detect Harmful Bacteria”. Speakers were Engr. Zamir Ahmed Soomro (Water Resources Management Specialist) (ADPC), Dr. Hifza Rasheed (Director, National Water Quality Research Lab, PCRWR, Islamabad), Abdul Aala Khurram (Director, Water Care Services) and Business Partner (TDF03-013). At the end of the Webinar Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq thanked the resource persons and shared future plan for research on valuing water. The webinar ended with the vote of thanks by the convener Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli. She paid special gratitude to the IT Services, GCWUF (Manager IT Tariq Shehzad sb., and his team) for provision of technical hand on the day when the whole university was off due to an announced holiday.
