2nd Science International Conference 2021, Government College Women University Faisalabad Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University Faisalabad organized 2nd Science International Conference 2021 entitled “Recent Advances in photonics and Physical Sciences” on 29th March 2021. It is a two-day conference which will continue its proceedings on 30th March as well. The conference started with the welcome note by Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Chairperson Department of Chemistry, followed by the kind remarks of Dr. Muhammad Yasin Akhtar Raja, UNC, Charlotte, International Chair and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabassum Afzal, Rector COMSATS Islamabad as the Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony. Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq, Vice Chancellor, GCWUF, made welcome speech for all the distinguished guests and researchers in the conference. The first plenary lecture was delivered by Dr. NabylKhenoussi, Laboratoire de Physique et Mecanique Textiles (LPMT) Mulhouse, France. Dr. Farhat Jubeen, Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry GCWUF introduced 1st keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Poliana Mendes de Souza from Instituto de Ciência e Tecnologia, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri Brazil, who delivered her talk on "Short Wave Ultraviolet Applied to Food Preservation". Session-I; “Emerging Trends in Industrial Chemistry” was chaired by Dr Muhammad Zuber Chemistry Department, University of Lahore Pakistan and was co-chaired by Dr. Arshad Mahmood Janjuha, National Institute of Lasers and Optronics (NILOP) Islamabad Pakistan. Participants of Session-I were Muzzamil Shamshi and Faiza Asghar from University of Wah, Wah Cantt, Pakistan, Fozia Anjum, Department of Chemistry, Government College University Faisalabad, Pakistan, Rashna Mehboob and Dr. Faiza Asghar, University of Wah, Pakistan, Nabeel Shahzad and Beenish Mehboob and Dr. Faiza Asghar, University of Wah, Pakistan. Session-II; “Photonics & Optoelectronics” was chaired by Prof. Dr. Imran Asghar, Department of Applied Physics, Aalto University, Finland, Hubei University, China and was co-chaired by Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi, Alminica Sweden. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi, from Alminica Sweden on "New approaches of Silicon Carbide as Research and Innovation Avenue". Mr. Mohammed Ashraf Gondal, Department of Physics, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and Dr Muhammad Hassan Sayyad, Advanced Photovolatic Research Labs (APRL) Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, District Swabi, Khyber delivered their lectures. Participants of Session-II were Muhammad Farhan Khan, South East University Nanjing, China, Trailokya Bhattarai, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, United States, Antardipan Pal, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, United States, and Nasrud Din, South east University, China. Session III entitled “Challenges & Goals of Environmental & Green Chemistry” was conducted by Prof. Dr Ijaz Ahmed Bhattii, Chairperson Department of Chemistry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and it was co-chaired by Dr Rashid Ahmed Khan, Plant Protection Division NIAB Faisalabad. The keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Imran Asghar, Department of Applied Physics, Aalto University, Finland, Hubei University, China. Invited Lecture was delivered by Ms. Shandra Pandey, Sofi Filtration Oy, Finland and Dr. Meri Lundahl, Teraloop Oy, Finland. Participants of Session-III were Dr. Shumaila Kiran, Government College University, Faisalabad, Pakistan, Ms. Saba Ghufran, Department of Chemistry University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, Dr Samreen Gul Khan and Mr. Muhammad Saeed from Government College University, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Session IV entitled “Nano-science & Materials Chemistry” was chaired by Prof. Dr Islam Ullah Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Mianwali, Pakistan and co-chaired by Dr Ahsan Nazir, Director ORIC National Textile University, Faisalabad, Pakistan. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr Javed Iqbal, Department of Chemistry, UAF. Invited Lecture was delivered by Dr. Asim Jilani: Assistant Professor, Center of Nanotechnology, King Abdul Aziz University Jeddah Saudi Arabia. Participants of Session-IV were Muhammad Hassan Rafe, Université de Haute Alsace, Laboratoire de Photochimie et d’Ingenierie Macromoléculaires (LPIM), Mulhouse France. Ms. Malika Rani, The Women University Multan, Pakistan, Mr. Adeel Tariq, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, Dr. Ambreen Ashar, Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University, Faisalabad, Pakistan and Ms. Urwa Mahmood from National Textile University, Pakistan. All participants appreciated the strenuous efforts of Dr Zill-e-Huma Nazli and her team in conducting the international event under kind patronage of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq.
