speech competition

Departments of Islamic Studies, English, Education and Urdu along with DSA Government College Women University Faisalabad organized a bilingual speech competition to celebrate Shaan e Rehmatu-Lil-Alameen on 12th October 2021. The program was formally started with recitation of Quranic verses and Naat and was attended by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Robina Farooq (Tamgha e Imtiaz), Director Students Affairs Ms Asma Aziz, Coordinator Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Ms Syeda Samina Tahira, Incharge of Islamic Studies Department Ms Shazia Adnan, Incharge of English Department Ms Saira Akhter and many teachers from different departments as well. The panel of English judges consisted of two honorable Judges: Mr Muhammad Khakan Ajmal from Govt. College Samnabad who had adjudicated a number of speech competitions on Division and inter university level, and Mr Umar Pasha who was former youth ambassador to Chief Minister Punjab and had won gold medals from GCU Faisalabad and UMT Lahore in different debate competitions. He has won almost 50 All Pakistan Declamation Contests. Total 10 students participated in English speech contest. First position was secured by Sara Sikandar, second position was given to Samman Bahram and 3rd position was secured by Shifa Zaidi. At the end IT Director Mr Tariq and Director Students Affairs Madam Asma Aziz, Incharge of Islamic Studies Department Ms Shazia Adnan, Incharge Department of English Madam Saira Akhter distributed certificates to position holders and appreciated the effort of all the students who participated in the speech contest and the event was hosted by Ms Faryal Gohar in English.
