Department of Botany GCWUF organized a two days workshop on “Organic Kitchen Farming” on 6-7th November, 2019. Chief guest of the workshop was Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. The workshop was presided by worthy Vice Chancellor GCWUF Dr. Robina Farooq. Convener of the workshop was Dr. Zill e Huma Nazli, coordinator faculty of sciences and technology and Chief Organizer was Dr. Abida Kausar Incharge Deparment of Botany. The external resource persons Dr. Shoaib-ur-Rehman and Dr. Adnan Younis from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, delivered very informative lectures about different technologies of vegetable production. The internal speakers Dr. Abida Kausar, Dr. Ambreen Khadija Alvi and Dr. Irfana Lalarukh also disseminated useful information about growing vegetables organically at home. Mushroom cultivation and its nutritional aspects were also discussed in details by Dr. Asif Ali, the father of mushroom cultivation. Faculty members of concerned department practically demonstrated to the students about the seed extraction, soil media preparation, seed sowing and organic spray formation.
